Sara Baume was born in Lancashire and grew up in Co. Cork, where she lives. Her story ‘Solesearcher1’ won the 2014 Davy Byrne’s Short Story Award. She studied at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design and Trinity College Dublin. Her debut novel, Spill Simmer Falter Wither (2015), was longlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award. In autumn 2015, she received a Literary Fellowship from the Lannan Foundation. She is also the winner of the 2015 Hennessy New Irish Writing Award and the Rooney Prize for Literature.
